Wheelock Mountain Farm Maple Syrup
Wheelock Mountain Farm Maple Syrup is made in small batches each spring. While other syrup producers use pipelines, and reverse osmosis systems, we still trek out to the woods and tap each of our 450 trees by hand, and hang buckets on each to catch the maple sap. We hand gather the sap on warm days (snow shoes at the beginning of the season and muck boots at the end) that follow cold nights and boil it into tasty, full bodied maple syrup over our wood fired arch. Making one gallon of syrup in this manner requires over 40 gallons of sap!! Once we've boiled all of the water out, we filter the syrup 3 times through special wool and cotton filters, and then bottle it for sale ensuring pure and delicious maple syrup.

Annual Maple Sugaring Events
at Wheelock Mountain Farm
Sugarhouse Brunch!!
March or April every year since 2007!
You'll find us deep in the woods enjoying trees, bird songs, sweet maple sap and syrup, laughter, lively conversation, and a warm fire. Please bring a potluck dish to share or something to cook on the large griddle. We'll provide plates, cups, bowls and flatware, and maple syrup. The sugarhouse is a hearty walk from parking at the Red House so put on proper footwear and pack for a gentle hike in.
We'll be gathering and/or boiling, depending on the trees - come ready to lend a hand if you want! Sugaring at WMF is an all volunteer effort. All money from our syrup sales goes to Wheelock Mountain Farm, helping to pay the substantial property taxes and to keep this land healthy and available to the community for many generations.
Directions to the farm are HERE!!
